Dear LeBron,

They're saying that you're leaving and I can’t even think that thought without tearing up a little bit. I'm saying that they're underestimating your love for this city, you'd retire here in your home before you'd retire anywhere else, you'd ask for a better supporting cast before you just walked out on us and we would do whatever it takes to keep you before we let you go. But that's just me believing.

You have made my 23 years of life in Cleveland unique and exciting. Especially the recent years when I have been old enough to understand and appreciate your talents and even more than that, your love for this place and the way you have given back.

Basketball here without you will never be the same. The city wont be the same. I think the special thing about Cleveland is our sports teams bring so much love to this place. I remember when you announced your return to The Land I ran down the stairs like It was Christmas morning screaming “he’s coming home”. Because of you, we come together. I remember back in 2016 when you won the NBA championship for this place and we threw a parade. People were scared of the big crowds, they thought things could get violent. But i remember that day being squished into a crowd so large that you could barely breathe. I was surrounded by people of different ages, races, genders, but i was surrounded by nothing but love because we were all there to celebrate the same thing. You did that.

On and off the court you have touched people’s lives. What you’ve done is so much bigger than yourself and bigger than basketball. You have given back to the community that gave you so much. You’ve given the city of Cleveland hope again, something to believe in. You’ve even given Clevelander’s hope that their futures can be bright by paying for college, you believed in them so that they could believe in themselves. You did that. You are the greatest of all time.

They say if you truly love someone that means you want the best for them. So, LeBron, I know you have given all that you could, you have done whatever it takes, for this city, for your team and for your coach. Because we love you and want only what is best for you, we will let you go if that’s what we have to do. With heavy hearts but a lot of incredible memories and even more than that, love for you like you’ve loved this city. We do whatever it takes for you to continue your NBA career with a strong supporting cast because you deserve it and because you have done whatever it takes for us for so long. But because I've learned from you, I will believe that there is a chance that you will stay.

Thank you for giving me a reason to call this place Believeland. This city will never be the same without you but it will always be Home.

Adversity

Mr. James

My apologies for taking your Time. I understand personally that Time is scares, especially to a leader like yourself. Thanks for all that you are and what you have given to Cleveland.

I recently lost my old brother suddenly and with in a few months my father. The Adversity I had to overcome dealing with this personally reached deep to my Soul.

I would like to Thank You for your inspiration, courage and leadership.
Humbly, your continuing demonstration of overcoming adversity as Professional Athlete during your young life is.... well, once in a many life time Special.

Thank you for sharing your Gods gifted talents on and off the Athletic Floor. Adversity is a Bitch, I have had my great share in life. People such as you have always helped me find the courage , strength and kindness to find my way through it.

I am almost certain I don't need to remind you of how important you are to many people, including those outside of your personal circle. The Strength you have to hold these people's Hopes, Dreams and even Life's on your shoulders...... It's truly Amazing...

Thank you again for your inspiration that helped me overcome my Adversity.

As a Coach let me leave you with a thought that may help you as you have helped me...

Continue to Never let anyone take your Gods "Spark" from you. As long as you have a "Spark" a Fire is not far behind.

Good Luck with your career choices and one last .......Thank You.

LeBron, you brought us our first championship in some 50 years. Watching you play is amazing.
Not to mention all you do for the community.
I know you have to chas your dreams, but I’m hoping those dreams include staying in Cleveland and allowing your kids to follow in your footsteps at St. Vincent.
Basketball will never be the same here in Cleveland without you.
Much respect for who I consider the best B.B. player of all time.

I could have not said it any better than what you just said!!

I’ve been a CAVALIER since high school and I continue to be one now. No matter where I go, I continue to tell everyone, “I’m just a kid from Akron”..

Thank you for everything. You will always be our MVP and HERO.

"Brysanarmy" is Lebron strong!
I just wanted to say thank you Lebron, A.K.A the King. A couple of months ago I took my boys to a game against the wizards and we was down by 16 with 5 minutes left and to be honest I thought it was over, but that day at the Q you made me see something I haven't been able to see since May of last year when they diagnosed my son with leukemia. No matter the odds the fight is never over, even though as a father when you hear that about your son you feel it is, but not in your whole career I never seen you think that way ever in my life and when the odds may be against you prepare harder for the battle. As a father watching his son battle leukemia and feeling helpless you brought the fight back to me and I want to say thank you for that King Lebron, your influence on others goes farther than even you could realize. As a fan I just want to thank you for all the good times you gave me and my family. Whatever you choose you are the greatest of all time. "Brysansarmy" is Lebron strong in my eyes. Ohio loves you!

Bryan,

Thank you for reading, commenting, and sharing your story. It brings tears to my eyes to see what LeBron means to you and your boys. Sure, he has given this city a championship but more than that he has taught us all to fight and to keep believing even when it feels too difficult to keep going.

My heart goes out to you and your family. #BrysansArmy is LeBron strong!

Mel, Shelly and Bryan, Thank You for putting into words what so many Clevelanders feel and want LeBron to know. I wasn’t born and raised here, but have been in this city for 30 years on Wed, the 13th and am proud to call the CLE my Home. I totally agree that LeBron has touched this city and ignited us all to Believe in what we never thought was and is possible. I pray he stays to help continue this amazing transformation, but if he leaves, we all need to understand, accept and wish him the Very Best - he deserves nothing less!!

Theresa,

It makes me so happy to see proud Clevelanders like yourself. Who aren't originally from here but love it just as much as those of us who have lived here our whole lives.

I could not agree more about wanting what is best for LeBron. He deserves so much after giving his all this season. I can't wait to see what he does next.

Thank you for reading and commenting!

Very well said Mel, thank you. This is exactly how I feel too, especially when you mentioned about the crowds during the parade but all I felt that time was love and happiness. Things will never be the same when James leaves but we will support him whatever his decisions will be.
